Update: Blizzard has announced that Wrecking Ball, also known as Hammond, has made his way to the Overwatch Live Servers today, July 24.

Hammond the hamster has just landed on the Overwatch PTR, marking his debut as the tank, Wrecking Ball. This little guy loves to distract his opponents and cause a ruckus amidst enemy lines with his wide range of powerful skills. While PC players get a chance to try him out, other fans are probably wondering when Hammond will hit the live servers and consoles.

Characters that are patched in the Overwatch PTR usually stay there for about three or four weeks, depending on Blizzard’s internal testing and tweaking. While they’re in the test servers, the developers will make any necessary adjustments, from buffs to nerfs, before bringing the hero over to the live servers and consoles.

Since Hammond just launched today, we’ll probably be waiting around the same time frame before Wrecking Ball hops into the main servers. That said, there could be a chance that they might keep the hero in the Overwatch PTR for a much longer or shorter duration, depending on testing and tweaks. Whatever the case, we’ll be sure to update this post as soon as we have a clear date on when Wrecking Ball will arrive on the live servers and consoles.
