How to Drop Shot in Mario Tennis Aces

Recommended Videos

Mario and his friends aren’t scared to try a new sport, but Tennis is one they’re quite familiar with. The spin-off makes its debut on Nintendo Switch as Mario Tennis Aces, and you’ll want to learn how to perform all the different shot types to have your opponent scrambling all over the court. The drop shot is one of the most useful, catching players off guard and leaving huge spaces at the back of the court, and here’s how you pull one off.

As you prepare to take your shot, as you usually would by pressing one of the face buttons but this time, you need to hold the left analog stick down. Doing so as your character’s racket connects with the ball will see the ball drop just over the net with a lot of backspin. It will bounce low and possibly back towards the net, making it difficult for your opposition to reach. You’ll have to choose when you do a drop shot wisely because doing so at the wrong time will leave you exposed.

That’s all you need to know about how to do a drop shot in Mario Tennis Aces. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks on Mario Tennis Aces, be sure to check out our wiki.
