Ubisoft’s online racing series The Crew takes the arcade racer formula of classic titles like Need for Speed Underground and blows it up onto a massive scale. The first game was well known for its impressive map size, realizing an ambitious persistent open world that allowed players to traverse across the entire USA, featuring major cities such as New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. The sequel, however, aims to realize an even bolder vision.
The Crew 2 embraces a whole stable of new vehicles, so players can now traverse by land, air, and sea. As you’d expect, the map is absolutely massive, and it’s even prettier this time around. We plotted a course from Miami to Seattle and did our best to drive across it as quickly as possible (spoilers, we got bored of crashing and ended up taking to the air). This epic journey took us a whopping 33 minutes! For comparison, it took just over four minutes to cross Far Cry 5’s map using the crop duster. So, yeah, The Crew 2 is enormous.
