Every PSVR Game Announced at E3 2018

PlayStation VR, PSVR

PlayStation VR has had quite a quiet start to 2018, with only a few games standing out among the tech-demos and short, generic experiences, but many hoped that we’d see loads of games revealed for the system at E3 2018. However, due to the shorter than usual length of Sony’s press conference, we didn’t see many PSVR announcements there, but a few titles have been revealed elsewhere this week. Here’re all the PSVR games that have been announced since E3 2018 began.

Tetris Effect

Tetris Effect was the first E3 announcement that Sony made this year. It was revealed during the week before the show, replacing the conference’s pre-show of last year. It’s from the mind of Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the creator of the likes of REZ, and it’s not what you’d expect from a Tetris game. The game’s named after the real-life idea of ‘Tetris Effect’ where people play the game so much that they begin to see the shapes in the real world. With intense music and vibrant colors, the game is sure to be unlike any Tetris game before when it launches sometime in 2018.

Ghost Giant

Moss proved earlier in the year that charming puzzle games feel at home on PlayStation VR. Ghost Giant, from the creators of Fe, was revealed during E3 and sees you work with Louis on his adventure through the picturesque town. The interactivity works in a similar way to Moss, as you move platforms and change the landscape to ensure that your buddy can move. It looks beautiful and adorable, and will come to PSVR sometime soon.

Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot

Focus may have been on Wolfenstein’s new co-op spin-off that was revealed during Bethesda’s E3 press conference, but Cyberpilot, a PSVR game, was also announced. It follows on from the manic action that worked in Doom VFR, and lets you kill Nazis in a more pro-active way. It takes place 20 years after the events of New Colossus, but the action is very much what you’d expect from a Wolfenstein game.

Beat Saber

Beat Saber seems like the perfect PSVR game, especially if you’re after a workout. It’s a rhythm game that sees you hold two Move Controllers, swiping at colored blocks as they pass by you. The soundtrack is pumping electronic music that gets the heart racing alongside the action itself. It’s been popular on other VR platforms, but we don’t know when it’ll come to PSVR exactly.

Deracine

Revealed immediately after Sony’s E3 press conference, Deracine is a new VR game developed by FromSoftware. The trailer didn’t reveal much about it, but it seems to be more laidback and emotional than their other games. It’s due for a 2018 release, so hopefully we’ll see more from the game before then to learn more.

Trover Saves the Universe

Trover Saves the Universe is a bit different to the other PSVR games available. From the minds of the creators of Rick and Morty, the game’s description reads, “Your dogs have been dognapped by a beaked lunatic who stuffed them into his eye holes and is using their life essence to destroy the universe.” You need to do whatever is necessary to save them, all in VR. One thing that is for sure, is that it’ll be a crazy experience.

Prey’s Typhon Hunter DLC

We were introduced to Prey’s Typhon Hunter DLC during Bethesda’s E3 press conference. Typhon Hunter can be played with VR, and works like Garry’s Mod’s prop hunt, and sees you explore the Talos space station as you try to find the mimics that are hiding everywhere. Having mimics attack you in virtual reality will probably be terrifying, but exploring Prey’s world will be fascinating.
