Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion was just announced today via Bungie’s special livestream, and in addition to new content, it’s also receiving a new Annual Pass, which you’ll need to purchase if you want to get the most out of Forsaken.
There will be three updates with the Annual Pass, starting with the Black Armory in Winter 2018, followed by Joker’s Wild in Spring 2019, and then Penumbra in Summer 2019. These content updates are said to offer more endgame challenges, weapons, armor, and vanity rewards to pick up as well as a swath of new and returning Exotics and Pinnacle activities. You’ll also get a chance at new Triumph records to collect.
The Annual Pass for Destiny 2 Year 2 will focus on three content drops instead of expansions. Forsaken will run you $40 on its own, but you can purchase it with the Annual Pass for $70, if you want to save a bit of money. There’s also an $80 Digital Deluxe edition with Forsaken, the Annual Pass, and additional content to purchase as well.
If you decide to preorder, you’ll get Cayde’s Exotic Stash, which includes the following:
- Ace of Spades Last Hand Exotic Ornament
- Queen of Hearts Exotic Ship
- Standoff Exotic Emote
- Shades of Cayde-6 Armour Shaders
Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion drops later this year on September 4.
