Update 05/01/2021: Good news! While CD Projekt Red haven’t officially added in a third-person camera in Cyberpunk 2077, sarunama from the modding community has done just that. You can check out a complete breakdown of how to check it out for yourself here. Keep in mind that this mod is only available to PC players.

Original Post: CD Projekt Red’s latest title has finally been given a good and proper reveal at E3 this year. While we didn’t get to see gameplay on the big stage, there have been behind-closed-doors showings of the game and more detailed explanations about what players can expect when they dive into the futuristic world. Of course, with the developer having made one of the best RPGs of this generation in The Witcher 3, with its stunning environments that could be marveled at in third-person mode, many are wondering if Cyberpunk 2077 will have that same option, too.

Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG that you’ll experience from a first-person perspective, and there are currently no plans for this to change While this may come as a disappointment, many early impressions are suggesting that Cyberpunk 2077’s world is just as immersive and engaging in first-person as The Witcher 3’s was in third-person. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see if a third-person mode does get announced at a later date, but it’s probably best not to hold your breath.

Do note that when driving a vehicle, you are able to switch into a third-person if you prefer.

That’s all you need to know regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s perspective. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
