How to Unlock and See More of the Map in State of Decay 2

Recommended Videos

State of Decay 2 is the latest co-op zombie survival game on the Xbox One and PC, and it features a large map for players to explore. There are tons of locations to loot and scavenge for more resources, and you’ll need to make use of your map to be more efficient while exploring the world. To do this, you’re going to want to unlock more visible areas on your map so you’ll have a better sense of what’s around you.

To unlock your map and see even more areas, all you have to do is survey the area by climbing to the top of the towers scattered all over the world. Once you’re done surveying the lands, new location icons and markers will appear on your map. Now, you’ll be able to refer to it anytime you want, and you’ll be able to see landmarks and icons in areas that you’ve previously unlocked. This is very useful as it allows you to better plan your days whenever you want to go on a scavenging run or capture outposts. Whenever you get a chance to survey the area, it’s wise to do so.
