Let’s be real, if you were in a zombie apocalypse, your life skills are going to come in pretty darn handy. Whether it’s your insane Cardio to help you run away from a horde of zombies, or your expertise with close-combat weaponry, everything helps. Of course, there are also some skills you’d need to develop, and that’s the same case here in State of Decay 2. Here’s what you need to know to level up skills fast in the game.

State of Decay 2’s levelling system requires you to simply do things related to that skill. So, for example, to level up your Cardio skill, you’ll want to use LB to run around a lot and climb just about everything you see. By simply doing these things, your character will get better at them and you’ll see their Star level rise over time. Once it’s maxed out, you can then press down on the d-pad to open your inventory, and press LB to access the characters stats. Use the left stick to scroll down, then highlight the skill and press A, allowing you to then specialize that skill and gain more abilities. To check how to level up these skills in State of Decay 2, simply read the little info box when you’ve highlighted a skill and it’ll tell you what needs to be done.

If you need to level up your skills even faster in State of Decay 2, you’ll want to keep an eye out for the different textbooks scattered around the world. Using these can further develop your skills, without having to go and do them. You can also teach your survivors new skills with these textbooks by equipping them into your inventory and using X. Though, keep in mind that your survivor will need a free skill slot to learn a new skill from a textbook.

That’s all you need to know to level up skills fast in State of Decay 2. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
