How to Open Hidden Chambers & What They Are in God of War
Spoiler Warning: This God of War guide contains spoilers for some of the end game content in the game. While we don’t discuss what lies inside Hidden Chambers, if you want to enjoy the game completely spoiler-free, you may want to turn back now.
There are a ton of different things to distract you from the main story in God of War, from the various collectibles to check out, crafting materials to forge, or just admiring a stunning vista across the chilly Norse terrain. You may also stumble upon Hidden Chambers as you explore the lands and venture off the beaten path a little. If you’ve been trying to figure out what kind of environmental puzzle you needed to solve to open them, don’t worry, we were stumped too. Here’s what you need to know to open Hidden Chambers in God of War.
While those Blue Rune Nornir Chests in God of War are opened by completing a sort of puzzle, the Hidden Chambers are actually just opened with a key. Each of the seven Hidden Chambers is opened by the same key, and you’ll even get your hands on it naturally as you progress through the game. We’re not going to tell you when, as that’d be spoiling things, but rest assured you’ll have it soon enough.
Once you do, retrace your steps to where you spotted the Hidden Chambers in God of War and interact with the door. Complete the minigame by moving the chisel across the door until it glows brightly. Hit the door with the chisel in the different places it glows, and after a few strikes, you’ll finally be able to get in.
It’s worth noting, however, that these chambers are end game content, offering some of the toughest challenges you’ll face in the game, so make sure you’re prepared before venturing inside. We’re not going to say much more than that. But if we hadn’t made it clear enough, be ready!
