Sea of Thieves: What the Mysterious Stranger Does

What the Mysterious Stranger Does in Sea of Thieves

Recommended Videos

When you first begin your adventure in Sea of Thieves, you’ll start out in a tavern, and you might notice a certain Mysterious Stranger standing in the shadows in the back. If you try to talk to him, he’ll tell you to come back after you’ve ranked up in all three factions in the game: Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls, and Merchant Alliance.

At the moment, we’re not sure what level you have to be before you can unlock the Mysterious Stranger’s secrets, but it’s definitely higher than 20. In early previews of the game, Rare revealed that players would be able to become Pirate Legends in the game and unlock a special endgame hub after meeting certain conditions. It’s possible that achieving max rank in all the factions and speaking to the Mysterious Stranger could have something to do with this, along with clearing out skull cloud forts and defeating the Kraken.

As the game has just launched, there’s very little info on Pirate Legends and what the Mysterious Stranger does, but we’ll be sure to update this post as soon as we find out more.
