Revealed in a tweet by Bloomberg tech reporter Yuji Nakamura, the game’s active player numbers have continued to drop since January despite the title reaching 30 million units sold as of this week. The downward trend marks the biggest decrease since the game’s launch. Nakamura attributes the drop to continued cheating within the game, which has been an ongoing issue and led to the banning of 1 million guilty players last month.

Originally released to Steam’s Early Access in March of 2017, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds became one of the breakout hits of last year. Drawing in millions of players over the course of its beta, the game saw widespread praise and popularity before its official launch on PC. Since its early access release on Xbox One, the game has seen over 4 million players, with 3 million flocking to the port in its first month alone.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available on PC and Xbox One. For more on what’s next for the game, check out the recently announced Xbox One bundle set to release later this month.
