Bethesda has today released an update for the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM, adding motion controls and multiplayer party support, with a bunch of fixes and other improvements for good measure.
The news was shared via the Bethesda blog earlier today, detailing the full contents of today’s DOOM update on Switch. According to community manager Jason Leavey, the “much-requested” motion control option “allows you to utilize the built-in gyroscope of the Joy-Con for more precise aiming.” Motion control support can also be used fully or partially, allowing players to use the controller’s analog stick should they want a middle ground.
DOOM’s latest Switch update also adds multiplayer party support, allowing players to invite and join one another’s parties, making it easier to jump into the frantic action with friends. A fairly commonplace feature in today’s landscape, but a welcome one all the same.
In terms of other improvements, the latest update also ups the average resolution in some particularly poor-performing areas of the game, implements CPU optimizations, and adds Traditional Chinese language support, too. You can check out the list of fixes and the full patch notes for the game here.
DOOM is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
