How to Crouch in Monster Hunter World

Recommended Videos

Crouching is one of the essential mechanics you’ll need to get used to when adventuring in Monster Hunter World. Most of the time, using crouch to sneak up to your prey is a good way of letting you get some extra damage in before the fight starts proper. And other times, you’ll need to sneak your way into their nest when you’re tracking them. Crouching lets you move slowly but quietly, and we definitely recommend doing this whenever you can.

To crouch in Monster Hunter World, all you have to do is press the X button if you’re on PS4 (or the A button on Xbox One). However, do note that you can only crouch when your weapon is sheathed. When you want to stand and walk normally again, press the button, or tap the sprint button to move more rapidly. If your weapon is unsheathed, tapping the button will result in you performing a dodge roll instead, which is a much more useful move when you’re engaged in the middle of a fight with a monster.

That’s all you need to know about crouching for now. For more tips, tricks, and information on Monster Hunter World, be sure to check out our wiki.
