Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory presents players with a choice right from the off. A short while into the game, you’ll reach a special area called the Black Market, where hackers come together to buy and sell Digimon. You’re restricted to choosing one of three, and this will be your starter Digimon that you use for the initial few hours of the Hacker’s Story. The three options are Betamon, Tentomon, Gotsumon. Each has different abilities according to their type, but it’s important to remember that you’ll be evolving and devolving your starters as the Hacker’s Story progresses, so there’s no need to worry too much about your choice. Ultimately, you’ll be able to experience all three by the game’s end.
However, if we had to choose between the three, Tentomon would be our choice. This is because the game’s first three bosses are virus-type, and given that Tentomon is a vaccine-type, he’ll prove the most effective against them. Besides, it’s also one of the original Digimon… so, nostalgia!
