5 Best Overwatch League Player Performances From Stage 1 Week 3

New York finally beats Seoul Dynasty thanks to Saebyeolbe as Tracer.

LiNkzr, widowmaker, houston outlaws, overwatch league

LiNkzr was a huge standout this week both during the Thursday game against Floirida Mayhem when Houston Outlaws went 4-0 and on Saturday when they won 4-0 against Los Angeles Gladiators.

On Thursday, LiNkzr got Player of the Match for his amazing skills as Widowmaker, landing headshot after headshot and ending the match with 50 eliminations as the hero against only 7 deaths and nearly 18,000 damage. Seen below in the final fight on Thursday, he finishes off three enemies including an amazing predictive shot on a flanking Tracer to save the point.

On Saturday he kept up the heat, getting Player of the Day alongside Striker from Boston Uprising by landing even more key shots as Widowmaker. Another highlight seen below shows him finishing off a Pharmercy and Tracer all in just a few seconds.

LiNkzr also stood out in his high performance abilities of many different heroes, including Genji. On Saturday especially he had some massive plays as the cyborg ninja, like a perfect mid-air deflection on the enemy Widow to wrap up a double-kill.

If LiNkzr continues to play like he did this week, he is definitely proving himself to be someone to watch out for.

STRIKER – BOSTON UPRISING – TRACER

Striker for Boston Uprising showed his skills as Tracer this week, proving himself a valuable asset to the wins against London Spitfire on Thursday and Dallas Fuel on Saturday.

Striker and fellow DPS team captain DreamKazper are the duo to look out for on Boston Uprising, but this week Striker shone the most with his efficiency as Tracer, working well with DreamKazper on Genji. In the tiebreaker map on Saturday, the two went off to cap the point as seen below.

Another standout play was below when teammate Gamsu, who also played amazingly this week as Winston, pushes the enemy team into a tight spot on Anubis, allowing Striker sneak in and land an amazing pulse bomb and four crucial kills.

Striker got Player of the Day with LiNkzr on Saturday, make sure to watch for him alongside DreamKazper as the season progresses.

SAEBYEOLBE – NEW YORK EXCELSIOR – TRACER

Over the last few weeks, Seoul Dynasty has been dominating the league with win after win putting them at the very top. That’s why it was extremely surprising when New York Excelsior beat the tigers on Friday 3-2.

The standout of that close match was clearly Saebyeolbe by a long shot, putting in some good plays as Widowmaker but excelling the most as Tracer to win 1v1 after 1v1 and help pull his team to victory. On Friday Saebyeolbe got 42 final blows compared to the enemy team’s same player role at 19. Along with a 39% pulse bomb attach rate and 89 eliminations with over 32,000 damage, he is proving to be one of, if not the best Tracer in the league right now.

Along with Player of the Match on Friday, he also was one of the two Players of the Day. Thanks to his DPS efforts, Seoul Dynasty was finally defeated, putting New York at a close second in the standings right now.

ENVY – LOS ANGELES VALIANT – D.VA

Envy for the Los Angeles Valiant played his tank role extremely well on Wednesday when his team won against fellow LA team, the Gladiators, in a narrow 3-2 lead.

Getting Player of the Match, after only 53 minutes of playtime on D.Va he dealt and blocked over 44,000 damage with 119 eliminations and 89 assists overall. Whenever there was a team fight, Envy was present and accounted for picking away damage to help his team get the upper hand.

His Roadhog plays were on point as well, proving he has the ability to work around different team comps while sticking mainly to the tank role.

Although his teammate Fate got Player of the Match against Florida Mayhem on Saturday as Winston, Envy played an amazing game overall as well. Along with being aggressive against the enemy tanks like CWoosH and Manneten, his self-destructs were quite successful as seen below.

In a world were DPS players are usually the most fun to watch, players like Envy are proving that tanks are also intriguing as they hold a lot of potential for some big damage numbers while also protecting the remainder of their team at he same time.

FLETA – SEOUL DYNASTY – WIDOWMAKER

Although Seoul Dynasty lost to New York Excelsior on Friday 2-3, they played a good match and Fleta proved himself to still be a threat on Widowmaker the entire time. So much so that he become the very first Widow to reach 100 final blows in the Overwatch League thus far.

He also put in work on a few other character during the match, showing off his flexibility in roles. Some highlights from non-Widow characters include amazing outplaying with a rip-tire as Junkrat as seen below.

As well as some fancy footwork as Genji to secure the payload in overtime in Junkertown, securing a double kill in the process.

Despite Saebyeolbe really pushing as Tracer for New York to get he win, Seoul Dynasty still played well on Friday and Fleta continually kept up the usual high standards he is known for across various different characters.
