IO Interactive has revealed today via a blog post on their website that new updates are in store for their episodic title Hitman during the month of October.
Starting on October 13, ten new featured contracts and a brand new challenge pack will arrive across all platforms (Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One). Ten new player-curated feature contracts will come later this month too, though an exact date wasn’t given.
Additionally, the developer stated that it will reveal new content for the game on October 24 and that the DLC will be able to do all the talking on its own. IO clarified that it wasn’t, in fact, an announcement for Hitman’s second season just to keep “expectations in check.”
A teaser image for the announcement can be found below, possibly hinting at a new target or a new location coming to the title. The person featured in the image may not be Agent 47 himself, implying either the aforementioned theory of a new threat to be detained or of a new playable character in the game.
Only time will tell what exactly the new content will entail, though fans may be slightly disappointed to hear that an announcement for a second season for Hitman won’t be coming just yet. That being said, it is fortunate that IO Interactive is able to keep Hitman going at all, given how Square Enix opted to withdraw from the studio late last year. Here’s hoping that an announcement for a second season of Hitman comes sooner rather than later.
