Total War: Warhammer 2 Brings the Skaven to the Series

These aren't your standard sewer rats.

Total War: Warhammer 2 Skaven

Another new playable race is coming to Total War: Warhammer 2: the Skaven. These underground dwellers are rat people are probably the greatest threat to the denizens of the surface. Their civilization is built on the “survival of the fittest” mentality, and only the strong, cruel, and cunning Skaven survive.

The Skaven form a massive subterranean empire that spans the various continents of the Warhammer world. They believe it’s their destiny to ascend to the surface and that they’re superior to all other races in the world. They’re the absolute worst.

In Total War: Warhammer 2 you’ll either have to fight or fight as the Skaven. Their strength lies in the brutality and massive numbers, and it may take the combined force of the surface dwellers to stop their crusade.

In addition to the Skaven, the Lizardmen, Dark Elves, and High Elves have been revealed as playable characters in the game, along with the Norscans that will be available as a pre-order bonus, or as paid DLC. Additionally, if you own the first Total War: Warhammer, developer Creative Assembly will be releasing an update that will combine the campaigns of the first and second game and allow you to play through them as any of the base or DLC races.

If you can’t wait to conquer the world as the Skaven, you don’t have much longer to go. Total War: Warhammer 2 launches on PC September 28.
