A small batch of new screenshots from highly anticipated sequel Shenmue III were released today courtesy of developer Ys Net.
Despite appearing in the team’s travelogue, the new set of pictures were actually not shown at Gamescom. The captions for each screen below read “The look of gallantry!”, “The Hazuki Style bow” and “What will go down in this city?”, respectively.
Keep in mind that these pictures reflect a game currently in development and are not fully representative of the final product due out for PlayStation 4 and PC late next year. A lot could change by the time we have the actual title in our hands, after all, and creator Yu Suzuki is recently quoted as saying that the models of Shenhua and Ryo as well as other characters are “mostly temporary.” He continued stating that “Shenhua still has to be fixed up a bit” while others are close to completion. Several other characters needed to be “fixed up” as well.
Shenmue III had its first teaser footage released just last week. Though not a very long video, it’s exciting to see things finally starting to come together as we get a look at what’s referred to as a “small slice” of a very early build of the game.
The game is being published by Deep Silver and is getting both a physical and digital release, but if you haven’t played any of the other games you may want to go ahead and get them while you can, because 2018 will be here before you know it and this is one release you won’t want to miss out on.
