No Man’s Sky: How to Play Co-Op Multiplayer and Where to Find Players

How to Play Co-Op Multiplayer and Where to Find Other Players in No Man’s Sky

With the release of update 1.3 Atlas Rises, No Man’s Sky now features a limited multiplayer feature. The new mode has been dubbed “Joint Exploration” and allows up to 16 players to explore the universe of No Man’s Sky together.

In order to actually activate the multiplayer feature, you do not need to boot any special mode. Instead, multiplayer has been seamlessly integrated into the game via the new update. Players will now come across other explorers in randomized lobbies of 16. You will obviously need to be on exactly the same planet to locate anyone, and given the game encompasses an entire universe, locating any of the 15 other players won’t be easy. Don’t expect to see a human-like figure standing waiting for you, though. Instead, players appear as floating orbs which are otherwise known as Glitches. Hello Games has introduced fast travel portals for that very reason, allowing players to quickly hop from one system to another in order to find each other and begin Joint Exploration.

If you want to quickly find another player, we would recommend heading to the Euclid Galaxy Hub Project. The hub is a community effort that was started last year by members of Reddit. The goal of the project is to explore a region of the galaxy, specifically the Rentocniijik Expanse.

The coordinates for the community project are 0469:0081:0D6D:0024.

That’s all you need to know about No Man’s Sky’s co-op multiplayer feature for now. For more on No Man’s Sky, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
