How to Beat the Pirabbid Plant Boss in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

The Pirabbid Plant is the mid-boss of the Ancient Greens, and is also the first boss you’ll encounter in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Before the fight, be sure to equip all your characters with the best weapons you have. I recommend getting a blaster with the Honey ability for Mario, and a blaster with the Burn or Push ability for Rabbid Luigi.

At the start of the fight, you’ll want to take the high ground as soon as you can. Using the Team Jump ability, you should be able to get Mario and Rabbid Luigi to the two elevated platforms closest to you in the first turn. There’s one enemy on each of the platforms, so start dealing damage to them once you get up there. No matter what, your priority is to get all characters to high ground as soon as you can. This is because enemies can deal increased damage to you from the high ground, and because the Pirabbid Plant itself is taller than you, it can also shoot at you even if you’re behind proper cover.

For me, Rabbid Peach was the last character I brought up to high ground because of her Shield ability. Being able to reduce weapon damage taken means that she’s able to last a turn longer on lower ground than the other two characters.

What you want to do is take out all the enemies on high ground first, and then focus your attacks on the Pirabbid Plant. Don’t worry about the enemies on the lower level; they’ll still try to shoot at you, but they’ll have a much harder time doing so if you’re up top. Once you’ve cleared the high ground, focus all your attacks on the Pirabbid Plant. Make sure to activate all your character techniques whenever they’re available, with the exception of Shield, which should only be used when you think Rabbid Peach is about to get hit.

Mario’s Hero Sight will allow him to deal extra damage, while Rabbid Luigi can protect himself from the Burn side effect with his own technique. If you have the Honey ability on Mario, he’ll also have a chance of rooting the Pirabbid Plant for one turn.

The Pirabbid Plant isn’t an easy fight, and it’s pretty likely that you’ll lose at least one character as you try to beat him (I lost two), but as long as you’re on the high ground, you have the advantage.
