Following Bandai Namco’s reveal earlier today of Dragon Ball FighterZ’s collector’s edition and closed beta, the publisher has released a Gamescom trailer showcasing two new fighters joining the fray: Androids 16 and 18. Check it out below.
Each character brings his and her unique moves to the game, with Android 16 even transforming to his weaponized form to spectacular effect. Android 18 brings some tricks of her own too, as her brother Android 17 joins her as a support character to help execute a volley of high-flying attacks and combos. Unfortunately it’s unconfirmed as to whether or not 17 will be playable as well, though judging from what we know so far, it doesn’t seem likely.
Today’s trailer is fresh off the reveal of two more characters joining the title, as Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta are both slated to make an appearance as well. A story mode was confirmed to be included in Dragon Ball FighterZ too, featuring scenarios that are not canon to the overarching Dragon Ball narrative and a snippet of which we get to see in today’s trailer.
Although Dragon Ball FighterZ will hit Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 in early 2018, interested fans can sign up for the game’s closed beta on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 right now. Xbox One owners can do so via the Insider app on their system whereas PlayStation 4 owners can sign up here. The closed beta begins September 16 and there’s no word on when it will finish.
