Is Kingdom Hearts III Coming to Nintendo Switch?

Recommended Videos

After Square Enix announced that Kingdom Hearts III is set for a 2018 release date and showed off the Toy Story world players will get to explore, hype levels for the upcoming RPG are pretty high right about now. Yet, with the game confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, some players may be wondering if Kingdom Hearts III will make its way to the Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Kingdom Hearts III will arrive on the Switch. At least, not at the same time as the PS4 and Xbox One versions. In an interview with IGN, Game Director Tetsuya Nomura stated that “…for now, we want to focus on what platforms we’ve already announced we’re going to be releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 on. And so after, perhaps, maybe we can start thinking about other possibilities.”

These are certainly words that’ll give Switch owners a glimmer of hope, but it’s still a noncommittal statement, and exactly how long after the PS4 and Xbox One release we’d have to wait remains to be seen. As always, however, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know should Nemura or Square Enix announce anything else regarding a Nintendo Switch version of Kingdom Hearts III.
