Watch Dogs 2 is increasing the player limit from two to four players to free roam around virtual San Francisco in a free update coming next week, Ubisoft detailed today. The plans for the four-player party mode was announced last March when the company released the game’s downloadable content schedule, including both free and season pass updates.
The new mode allows up to four players in a public or private lobby to participate in Bounties, DedSec Virus, Invasions, Loot Trucks, Man Vs Machine Robot Fights, Races, and Showd0wn events. Players can also free roam and tackle Red Zones together. Check out how it works in the trailer below.
The four-player mode is coming alongside an update that lets players skip the 3D printer cinematic, fixes the shuffler takedown move and unlocking certain outfits, and adds “a few other stability fixes.” The update drops on July 4, and Ubisoft is recognizing the holiday during the the month of July with an in-game event containing fireworks displays and changing the paintball gun to shoot red, white, and blue pellets.
