At Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, the first DLC expansion for Steep was revealed and it will focus on the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Studio Director Rebecca Coutaz said that they had been working with athletes to understand what it was like to becoming a legend in winter sports. Some spent 300 days a year on trampolines to ensure they would get the perfect landing in completion, while others performed six million turns in preparation. You can see a trailer for the expansion below.
The included sports will feature halfpipe, downhill, snowboard cross, and many others – you can see them all in the trailer. The DLC will also feature all the Winter Olympics branding you would expect. You can check out a quick official overview courtesy of Ubisoft below.
It wouldn’t be the Olympics without official Olympic events, so the expansion will include Downhill, Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Giant Slalom, Super G, and Big Air. There will also be some unique challenges to keep things fresh as you choose a country to represent and test your skills against players around the world. And for those thirsty for the legendary powder of Japan, there will be plenty of space to find your own lines, set challenges for your friends, record your highlights, and share them with the Steep community.
Steep was originally revealed during the Ubisoft E3 conference last year and this is the first expansion pack to be released.
Steep’s Road to the Olympics DLC will be available on all the usual platforms on Dec. 5.
