Nintendo has been going Fire Emblem crazy lately. The 3DS title ‘Shadows of Valentia’ is coming out later this month and the company has also announced Fire Emblem Warriors for the 3DS and Switch as well as a new mainline entry coming in 2018, also for the Switch. There has been no shortage of Intelligent System’s traditional turn-based tactics franchise.
The producer of the series, Hitoshi Yamagami, spoke with Dengeki Nintendo (via Japanese Nintendo) about Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, stating that the title will be the last mainline 3DS entry. It seems that production for future titles will be moving over to the Switch indefinitely. We’ll still be getting Fire Emblem Warriors this fall for the 3DS, but that’s not considered a mainline title since it follows more closely to the gameplay of 2014’s Hyrule Warriors.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is coming out on May 19 for the Nintendo 3DS. Will you be picking it up for your 3DS? How do you feel about the 3DS not getting any more Fire Emblem games? Let us know your thoughts and concerns in the comments below!
