Yooka-Laylee: How to Sprint

How to Sprint in Yooka-Laylee

Recommended Videos

As you make your way through Hivory Towers and the Grand Tomes of Yooka-Laylee, you may be wondering if there’s a way to sprint. While the colorful duo are certainly no slowpokes, there’s no time to waste when you’re searching for those precious Pagies.

Unfortunately, there’s no way you can actually sprint in Yooka-Laylee. That doesn’t mean you can’t get around faster than the jog that the characters will do when you just use the left stick. Once you make it into Hivory Towers, Trowzer the Snake will be waiting for Yooka and Laylee. Lucky for us, he’ll reward the duo with a new move for free every so often. The first you’ll get is the ability to roll up ramps by holding down RT/ R2.

While this is primarily used for scaling these steep ramps, you’ll also be able to get around a little bit faster by simply rolling everywhere you possibly can. It’s worth noting, though, that you won’t be able to just permanently roll everywhere, as it’s directly linked to the stamina bar that appears in the top left-hand corner of the screen. This is basically how you can sprint in Yooka-Laylee.
