Uncharted 4 Wins Best Game at British Academy Games Awards 2017

Inside received the most awards.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End won the Best Game category at the 2017 British Academy Games Awards today, held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

Naughty Dog’s finale to Nathan Drake’s story may have taken the ultimate prize at the show, but Playdead’s Inside took home the most awards followed by Ghost Town Games’s Overcooked. Inside won four categories, including Best Game Design and Best Narrative, while Overcooked won Best British Game and Best Family Game. Brenda Romero, a game designer who has worked on titles such as the Wizardry and Jagged Alliance franchises, received the BAFTA’s Special Award at the show. The award honors her “illustrious career in game design, her advocacy for the art and creative process behind game-making, and her commitment to encouraging the next generation of talent in the industry.” She is currently co-owner of Romero Games, based in Galway, Ireland, and a Program Director at the University of Limerick MSc in Game Design & Development.
