How to Get a Critical Hit – Zelda Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

Your adventure in Zelda Breath of the Wild is going to see Link taking down more than his fair share of enemies as per usual. Of course, to ensure you conserve your ammo and dispose of enemies as fast as you possibly can, you’ll want to get a critical hit on an enemy.

A critical hit in Breath of the Wild can be performed in one of two ways. The first is by landing a headshot on the enemy with your bow and arrows. Simply line up your shot with the enemy’s head and let it fly. You should notice that the enemy sustains far higher damage than a simple body shot would, for obvious reasons.

The alternative way to get a critical hit in Breath of the Wild is with the Flurry Rush. This is a new move to the series and is incredibly effective for dealing out huge damage to enemies. All you need to do is wait for an enemy to attack you and at the very last second dodge out of the way with the left joystick and the X button. If you catch it at the perfect moment (and you really do need to nail it), time will slow down and all you need to do is press Y to initiate a Flurry Rush.

It’s worth noting that you can still take damage from enemies when in a Flurry Attack, so make sure no enemies creep up on you while you focus on another.

That’s all you need to know to get a critical hit in Breath of the Wild. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
