Ubisoft San Francisco has announced that they have hired four new talents to their team. These new hires hail from Telltale games and Ubisoft hopes that they can “expand their narrative creative pool”. Having worked on The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, and Minecraft: Story Mode, “the four will bring a wealth of storytelling expertise to Ubisoft San Francisco future projects.”
Coming from a statement on Ubisoft’s Blog, “We are excited to welcome these strong industry veterans to our skilled team at Ubisoft San Francisco,” says, François Pelland, Executive Producer at Ubisoft San Francisco. “As we continue to expand our portfolio of games, we look to hire the best talent in the industry and infuse team members with a shared passion for development.”
Ubisoft has recently announced that South Park: The Fractured but Whole has been unfortunately delayed to the company’s next fiscal year, which goes up to March 2018. The Fractured But Whole was originally planned on being released in Dec. 2016 but was then delayed to the first quarter of 2017. There’s no word that these new ex-Telltale employees will be working specifically on South Park, but let’s hope that they can bring their storytelling expertise to Ubisoft’s titles.
