The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Isn’t a Switch Launch Game Anymore

Don't worry, it won't be much longer.

Looks like fans will have to wait just a tad bit longer to get the popular indie title The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on their Nintendo Switch. The game’s official website posted an update today, noting how some may have notice the title’s shift in release date. Unfortunately, The Binding of Isaac won’t be out for the Switch on March 3, but it was noted that the delay won’t be substantial. The game will still be arriving in March, although there’s no exact date as of yet.

There is good new for fans, however, as the game will be getting a few extra goodies when it launches. First and foremost, you get two limited sticker sheets and reversible cover art, which were already announced. Even better though, is the full-color 20 page instruction manual that will come packed in with every copy of the Switch Launch Edition. Of course, it’s important to note that this only comes in the launch edition, and will not be included with any future versions of the game. You can take a look at some example pages on the website post here.

For anyone that doesn’t know The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is an enhanced version of the original randomly generated roguelike RPG/shooter hybrid. Here’s a few of the features it boasts.

  • Over 500 items and weapons
  • Over 1,000 hours of gameplay
  • 5 unique modes of play
  • 14 playable characters
  • 20 professionally animated cartoon endings
  • Over 50 unique bosses· Online Leaderboards and Daily Runs
  • 30+ Challenge modes
  • Over 6,000 rooms with over 4 billion possible combinations
  • Bestiary! (enemy collection page that keeps track of everything you kill in game)

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ will release sometime in March on Nintendo Switch, and costs $39.99.
