Shovel Knight was originally released back in 2014 and was highly praised for its old school style gameplay which reminded us of some of our favourite 2D side scrolling games from days gone by. The game has since been released on numerous platforms and it has now been announced the title will be a launch game for the upcoming Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo has announced in their latest eShop news that both Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Fast RMX will be available to play the day your new Nintendo Switch console arrives.
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove includes the standard game plus all the expansions that have been released. Treasure Trove is currently a timed exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. Fast RMX is an incredibly fast paced racing game that includes split-screen co-op and online multiplayer, it’s exclusive to the Switch.
When the Switch was first announced, some gamers criticized it for its lack of launch games, but this has only increased as the console’s release date has drawn ever closer. The Switch will now have several big titles to play on day one including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, Super Bomberman R, Just Dance 2017, Skylanders Imaginators, and I Am Setsuna. No doubt many Shovel Knight fans will be eager to check out this version on the Switch and it’s a must play for newcomers.
