NieR Automata is the sequel to 2010’s cult hit, NieR. Square Enix hosted a live Q and A session with the creator of the series, Yoko Taro, where he confirmed the possibility of a NieR remaster, but only if “NieR Automata sells like hotcakes.”

Yoko Taro was asked several questions about the upcoming title. Not only did he hint at the possibility of a NieR remaster, he also mentioned how long it would take to complete the game: “To get to the true ending, the team tells me around 25 hours. For completionists, it’ll be around 55 to 60 hours.”

NieR: Automata is not shy to delve into several different genres. The demo that was released not too long ago featured sections that changed the typical third-person action view to many varied viewpoints. From side-scrolling to twin-stick shooter to a top-down perspective, Automata is shaping up to be something quite unique.

NieR Automata is an action role-playing game developed by Platinum Games and is being published by Square Enix. It takes place in the same universe as the original NieR but set in the midst of a proxy war between machines created by otherworldly invaders and the remnants of humanity. The story follows the battles of a combat android and her companion.

NieR Automata comes out on Mar. 7 for the PlayStation 4. A digital Microsoft Windows release has also been announced for 2017, but no date has been unveiled as of yet.
