Playtonic Games has finally announced the release date for Yooka-Laylee, and fans can now mark their calendars for April 11, 2017. On this date, the game will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Those who choose to pre-order the game will also receive the Yooka-Laylee Toybox.
Unfortunately, Playtonic also stated that the Wii U version of the game has been canceled due to “unforeseen technical issues.” That said, the developer has mentioned that they’re currently working closely with Nintendo to bring the game over to the Switch. In addition to that, Kickstarter backers who opted for the Wii U version of the game will be able to change their platform options, and that also includes a possible upgrade to the Switch version whenever the company has more details to share on that matter. More information on the platform change will be coming in January of next year.
Yooka-Laylee is set to be released for consoles and PC on April 11, 2017. We’ll keep you updated as more information comes our way.
