Dragon Quest Heroes 2 has finally gotten a western release date: the game will launch on April 28, 2017 for the PlayStation 4. The game will launch both digitally and physically.
The original Dragon Quest Heroes launched in February of last year on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan and in October for Europe and the US. Dragon Quest Heroes 2 is following a similar release schedule, the game released in Japan for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita on May 27 of this year
There is no word yet on a western release date for PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita versions, nor is there any word on a possible PC release date, though the first game did eventually come to PC.
About the game, a press release reads, “Set in an all-new world with new heroes and story, Dragon Quest Heroes 2 is an action-RPG that sends players on a grand adventure to restore order to a once peaceful world, with thrilling battles of epic proportions along the way. With the addition of multiplayer functionality, players can form a party of up to four online to conquer swarms of enemies and defeat gigantic monsters.”
Dragon Quest Heroes 2 is developed by Omega Force, which is the team behind the famed Dynasty Warriors franchise, and if you’re interested in picking up the sequel, we had this to say about the first game: “If you’re a long-standing Warriors fan, you may want to check out Heroes but keep in mind that it won’t be as high-octane as what you’re used to. But while they don’t have the same intense battles, it’s still a good time for anyone looking for something new.”
