Capcom is reportedly looking into bringing some of its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games over to the Nintendo Switch, which is due to launch in March 2017.
According to Gamespot, Capcom’s latest earnings Q&A was published in English today, in which the company claims to currently be “carrying out research” into how it can bring its current multi-platform games over to the Switch, though they offered no specifics.
Instead, Capcom offered the following statement in strong support of Switch:
“It is excellent to have the market invigorated with new hardware launches,” the company said. “As a software publisher, we endeavor to develop games that offer enjoyment best suited to each piece of hardware’s features and target users. Following first party, in order to introduce our own content we are currently moving forward with internal planning and analysis as a partner company.”
The company did observe that the Switch’s features are definitely unique when compared to its competitors. “…We do feel that there are differences in the deisred direction and the play-style of the Nintendo Switch and those of the PS4 and Xbox One.” Unfortunately, no further details were given.
Capcom is not the only company supporting the Switch, of course. Big-name companies like Activision, Ubisoft, EA, Square Enix, Bethesda, Atlus and more on board with Nintendo’s new platform, and one may assume that they are also looking into the prospect of bringing some of their current-gen multi-platform games over to the Nintendo Switch.
