How to Whistle and Attract or Distract Enemies in Mafia III

Recommended Videos

Lincoln Clay didn’t want to get embroiled in a fight against the Italian Mafia, but it just so happens that that’s exactly what he finds himself in during Mafia III. The game gives you the choice to approach your missions with stealth. As such, you’re going to want to keep in mind a very handy tactic for separating enemies from groups: distraction. You can distract anybody by whistling at them, forcing them to come towards you to investigate the noise. Here’s what you need to whistle and attract or distract your enemies in Mafia III.

In order to whistle successfully in Mafia III, you’re going to first be sneaky and unseen. Then, while you’re behind cover, you simply hold down left on your directional pad and Lincoln will give out a whistle. The closest enemy to you will then approach. Now is when you can strike for a stealth takedown. However, keep in mind that if you’re too close to the group, the rest will see you do this and start firing on your position. So it’s best to get your distance, stay behind cover, and then whistle. Wait until the moment when the takedown prompt comes up and strike.

Hopefully, if you’ve done this right, the others will have no idea and you can rinse and repeat as many times as you’d like to pick them off one by one. Lincoln will also drag the body behind the cover, so they shouldn’t be spotted as another approaches.

That’s all you need to know to whistle in Mafia III. Now go and distract or attract enemies to your position for those easy stealth kills. For more help with Mafia III, check back to Twinfinite’s wiki for guides, tips and more!
