Gears of War 4: How to Use the Buzzkill Effectively

That's gotta hurt.

Buzzkill – Gears of War 4

One of Gears 4’s new additions to your arsenal of weapons is the Buzzkill. Capable of launching multiple buzzsaw projectiles that ricochet off walls and surfaces, it’s the perfect weapon for swiftly disposing of a group of enemies. That is, if you learn to use it right.

The trick with using the Buzzkill is all about knowing the best time to actually put it to use. Yes, you can opt to use it in a one vs. one scenario, but because it takes a while to wind up, a few shotgun hits from your opponent are likely to drop you before you can get one shot off. Also, if you’re not careful and a buzzsaw comes right back at you, you can rest assured it’ll slice right through you too.

Therefore, it’s best to sit back and wait for the perfect moment to strike. Thanks to the ricocheting properties of the projectiles, using the Buzzkill in an enclosed environment with plenty of enemies is ideal. For example, in one of the rings in Escalation, or if a team has dropped back to defend the Leader in Guardian.

Take your time to line up your shot and then keep your finger on the trigger to fire off multiple rounds. You may want to move your aim slightly midway through to allow the blades to find different walls and angles to cut your opponents down. Using the Buzzkill from behind cover in Gears of War 4 will also allow you to quickly seek shelter in case a buzzsaw starts heading straight back to you.
