Good news, everyone! It looks like the extremely talented Donald Glover will be starring in a galaxy far far away. You may know him as Troy from Community, Earn in Atlanta, or as Childish Gambino, his musical moniker.
Donald will be bringing his acting talent to the world of Star Wars, landing himself a role in the Han Solo spin off movie. He will be playing Lando Calrissian, everybody’s favorite cloud city administrator.

Lucasfilm announced the casting on Twitter, as seen above. Donald looks like a great choice to play a younger version of the smuggler, previously portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back. The post explains that the movie will focus on Lando’s “formative years as a scoundrel in the galaxy’s underworld” before the events of Episode V.
The as of yet untitled spin off is being helmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, famous for The Lego Movie and the modern 21 Jump Street movies. He will also be joining Alden Ehrenreich, who was cast as the title character earlier this year.
It’s going to be a long wait to see him in action though, as the movie is set for release in 2018. For more news on the movie before it’s release, keep it locked right here at Twinfinite.
