The development team behind Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Inti Creates, has announced that they are partnering up with a new publisher, 505 Games. Bloodstained was successfully kickstarted in June 2015, where the campaign finished with over $5.5 million. The game is also considered to be the spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
The announcement came by YouTube on the team’s official channel, with messages from producer Koji Igarashi and president of 505 Games, Ian Howe. You might not know the publisher by name, but you probably have heard some of the games they have published such as Rocket League, Abzu, and Payday 2.
“Although we have started this project through Kickstarter, we wanted more people to play now that we are in full production,” Igarashi said. “However, we believe this isn’t possible with our power alone. We are so grateful that a publisher with a vast marketing power such as 505 Games will be working with our small production team.” He promises that they will all work harder to develop the game together, saying that they “cannot let everyone down” while holding a whip.
The video also had some gameplay, but was limited in that you mostly saw an empty hallway with the character running around. That segment was of Igarashi talking to his team about certain things they could fix or where enemies might go.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set to release in 2018 after news broke last month that the game was delayed. Fans will be able to grab a copy for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, Vita, Mac and Linux.
