No Man’s Sky: How to Get Heridium and What it Does

Heridium – No Man’s Sky

Recommended Videos

You’ll need Heridium pretty early in No Man’s Sky, and depending on what planet you land on it can be frustrating to find. This silicate is needed to patch up your Pulse Drive, and will remain a necessity in future Starship upgrades and some other useful blueprints.

So far, Heridium can be found on almost every planet, though it’s not in every area and will require a bit of exploration to find. If you use your area scan, you’re going to want to pay attention to the blue and white chemistry markers. These lead you to Silicates, which is what this element falls under. It will mostly be found in a rock that resembles Obsidian or Black Marble. Breaking this will give you the lovely blue crystals that you’ve been looking for.

If push comes to shove, you can always just purchase the resource from the Galactic Market. Its average price is around 34 Units each, but you can always find better deals. Heridium is used to:

  • Repair certain ship components.
  • Craft upgrade blueprints.
  • Trade.

It’s a good idea to keep at least one stack on you for a rainy day.
