Though one of the rarest and most coveted Pokemon, Dragonite can actually be found and captured in the wild in Pokemon GO. While there doesn’t seem to be any hard rules on how to track one down, here’s the where we found ours.
We ran into a Dragonite in Santa Monica, California, a city location near the water. Notably, this is a popular place to find Dratini and a variety of Water-type Pokemon. You can see Dragonite below, just chilling in a residential intersection, where six cars full of trainers soon frantically parked.
Dragonite’s CP was off the charts and with its red catch ring, proved extremely difficult to catch. Even with the help of Razz Berries, it broke out of nearly every ball and was prone to fleeing after failed throws.
We’ll update this page with any more Dragonite encounters, and in the meantime, let us know if you’ve run into one out in the wild too!
