Pokémon GO has been released in several territories around the world including the USA and UK. It’s taken the world by storm, but is still yet to be made available worldwide. The Mayor of Rio De Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, has urged Nintendo to make the game available in Brazil in time for the Summer Olympics.
He posted on Facebook a picture of classic Pokémon in front of iconic landmarks in Rio, with the message: “Hello Nintendo! There are 23 days until the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Everybody’s coming. You should come on down too.”
Having Pokémon GO out in time for the Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro would no doubt encourage people to explore the city and meet new people. Pokémon GO is already available in the USA, UK, New Zealand, Australia, and Germany. It will no doubt see a release across the globe but no release date has been confirmed for South America. The Summer Olympics in Brazil will commence on August 5.
