The end of Microsoft’s 2016 E3 press conference showed Phil Spencer take the stage once more to introduce the world to Project Scorpio, which he touted as being the “most powerful console ever.”
Project Scorpio is described as being a console for everyone. It will offer true 4K gaming, and is compatible with all Xbox One titles. In fact Spencer made sure to confirm that all upcoming games from Microsoft will be playable on Xbox One, the newly announced Xbox One S, and Project Scorpio. Additionally, all accessories will be compatible with all three platforms as well.
Gamers on all platforms, as well as Windows 10, will be able to play with each other seamlessly, and Scorpio will offer high-fidelity VR and the highest framerates possible. Spencer put it plainly: “It’s a monster.”
No design was shown off, but Spencer said they wanted to announce the new system publicly now to allow developers ample time to get their hands on it and create the best content they can in time for Project Scorpio’s holiday 2017 release.
