The new Doom released today – or DOOM, if you like to think the title is being screamed from the depths of Hell – and players are already on the hunt for easter eggs. As it turns out, the developers dropped a subtle but definite nod to the world of Fallout in between the bouts of demon slaying.
Just beyond the game’s first gore chest, Reddit user shinto29 found a logo for Vault-Tec, the company behind the maniacal vaults of the Fallout series. That’s not the only Wasteland nod in Doom; players can also find a collectible “Vault Guy” figurine within the game.
In other news, a Doom-themed car will be racing at the Indianapolis 500 this month. “We couldn’t imagine a more perfect sponsorship fit,” said Bethesda’s Pete Hines. “Doom is all about pushing forward with incredible speed.”
Doom is now out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For more, you can check out the brutal launch trailer, the install size and PC requirements, or the full list of trophies/achievements.
