During a PAX East panel earlier today, Nathan McCree, composer of the original Tomb Raider game, revealed that an album for the first game will be released.
Under the name “Tomb Raider Suite”, it’ll feature all classic compositions, along with extensions and variations from original tracks of the first three games. Additionally, new recordings of music from the first three games will be included. McCree also went on to state that it’ll be “60-80 minutes long”, and be performed by a famous orchestra at the Abbey Road studios in England.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the fans, as well as me, to hear the music as I had always intended it,” McCree said.
A live performance of the music will the suite will be performed at a major venue in London to correspond with the 20th anniversary of the original game. Further details on that will be revealed at a later date. The whole process of the suite, from the tracks to the concert itself, will be a part of the Tomb Raider: Remastered TV documentary.
