HBO Now, the $14.99 a month subscription service, now has an app available for download on the Xbox One, just in time for the season premiere of Game of Thrones. After launching exclusively to Apple TV last year, the service has slowly trickled out to other set-top boxes and devices. Consoles are the most recent devices to begin receiving HBO Now.
HBO Now exists separately from the HBO Go service that is available for those who pay for a cable subscription packaged with HBO. With HBO Now, users pay a flat $14.99 a month fee and are not require to maintain a cable subscription.
Viewers can watch the same full library of HBO shows and movies available to HBO cable subscribers via the HBO Now service. Users can catch up on Game of Thrones, True Detective, Veep, Silicon Valley, and other HBO shows.
New users who sign-up now can start a free one month trial before having to pay for the service.
No word yet on when a similar app will be available on the PlayStation 4.
