Enter the Gungeon: How to Play Co-Op

How to Play Co-Op in Enter the Gungeon

Recommended Videos

Enter the Gungeon is a brilliant rogue-like bullet-hell shooter from freshman developers DodgeRoll. But much like a lot of things in life, it’s better with friends. Thankfully, there’s multiplayer within Enter the Gungeon. Here’s how to play co-op in Enter the Gungeon.

Once you’ve completed one run-through of the single player campaign, and when you get tired of dodge-rolling your way through the bullet frenzy of the crazed enemies that inhabit the Gungeon, you can kick back with a friend on the couch and try and get through it together. All you need are two controllers and some camaraderie, as you’re probably going to get each other killed. A lot.

Plug your second controller in, and make sure both input devices are turned on, then walk over to the cool purple guy that’s standing to the right of the character select. Then, all you have to do to activate the multiplayer co-op aspect of the game is talk to him (press E) and you can start the multiplayer experience.

There is a catch here, though. The second player cannot play as any of the main characters and must play as The Cultist, a co-op only character and coincidentally, the guy you were just talking to.

The Cultist has his own set of items and weapons:

  • Weapon – Dart Gun
  • Passive Item – Number 2 (Increases player stats when co-op partner is dead)
  • Active Item – Friendship Cookie (Upon use, resurrects a co-op player with full health)

That’s all there is to it, though! That’s how to play co-op multiplayer in Enter the Gungeon. If you need any more help or tips, use our search bar up above to look for a guide! You can also leave us a comment and we’ll try our best to help you out.
