In The Division you’re gonna need some seriously strong weapons and gear to take on the challenge of the later levels. While loot drops can get you some powerful equipment and a fighting chance, some of the best items in the game early on come from crafting it yourself.
To be able to craft gear and weapons, you’re first going to need crafting materials. We’ve got a full guide on how to deconstruct items to get crafting materials, here. Once you’ve deconstructed your items and got the crafting materials you’ll need, head over to your Base of Operations. As you walk through the entrance into the first main room you’ll see a stand just to the left of the stairs directly in front of you. This is the Crafting Station. Simply hold Square on PS4, X on Xbox One or F on PC to interact with the Crafting Station.
Here you can craft a number of items and gear with the crafting materials you have. Some Specialized and High-End items will require better crafting materials which can also be made from basic materials at this station.
While there will be some items available at the Crafting Station for you to build, you’ll need to collect blueprints from completing side missions in order to craft the better loot that you’ll want to use later on in the game. Once you’ve completed a side mission, the blueprint will automatically be sent to your Crafting Station, ready for you to build with the correct materials.
