Stardew Valley: What the Train Does For You

What the Train Does in Stardew Valley

Recommended Videos

While playing Stardew Valley, you might encounter a peculiar message on your screen. The game will let you know that an earthquake has happened on the third day of Summer in your first year, which clears the blocked path for the railroad tracks. This means that the train is now in use and you’ll be getting random messages about that now, too.

The train really doesn’t do much for you. You can’t ride it and be taken to some other magical town. However, if you happen to be in the area while it is passing, you will get some nifty items that could be great help to you when you’re starting out. These range from coal, to ores, to geodes and you must be within the area as it passes. This can prove a bit difficult as the times aren’t all that scheduled.

Other than that, it’s just a nice little atmospheric addition to Pelican Town. Sometimes you’ll see a fast bullet train. Sometimes in the winter, it will have gift boxes. Enjoy the messages that pop up from time to time that you now know the meaning of.
