All March 2016 Video Game Releases

March keeps up the momentum.

The Division

March is here with a ton of video games, both new and old, for players to dive into. 2016 may have started a bit slowly, but after a blockbuster February things have begun to pick up. March packs eve more video game entries into its release calendar, so let’s dive right in.

Week One (March 1 – March 5)

March kicks things off with a long list of video game releases for its first week. Far Cry Primal brings the Stone Age to PC, while Heavy Rain gets PS4 players ready to shout “Jason!” for hours on end. NetherRealm releases the complete package for Mortal Kombat, although PC players are left out of the new action being introduced.

Wii U finally gets some major love in the form of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Updated with new visuals and even some amiibo functionality, this HD re-release looks to bring one of the most unique entries to current gen consoles. Also, if visuals are a big deal to you, you may want to give Black Desert Online some of your attention.

Week Two (March 6 – March 12)

Week two of March 2016 has some heavy hitters dropping in to add a bit more excitement to the month. The Division and Hitman, along with some other fun titles hit store shelves this week.

With The Division being one of the most anticipated releases of the year, all eyes are on Ubisoft to see if they can deliver on their large vision. Hitman takes the bold episodic approach to its latest triple-A offering. It’s quite different, but we’ll have to wait and see if it can deliver the ultimate assassin experience.

Week two has a little something for everyone, whether it’s a huge shooter, or a small quirky indie.

Week Three (March 13 – March 19)

Week three  has one of the Wii U’s biggest games of the year releasing. Pokken Tournament, the Pokemon fighting game, will thrust players into the arena as they battle it out with genuine fighting mechanics.

Of course, if you don’t have a Wii U, there are plenty of other offerings for you to get your action fix. Samurai Warriors 4 Empires brings the tried and true castle-building mechanics to the samurai side of things. Marvel Battlegrounds provides four-player, arena brawling gameplay with the most popular Marvel characters out there. And PC players will finally get their hands on the high-speed racing of Need for Speed.

Week Four (March 20 – March 26)

Week four keeps the ball rolling with game releases, offering something for almost every platform. Some standout titles include Lichdom: Battlemage, Hyrule Warriors: Legends, and Republique.

Hyrule Warriors hits the 3DS in a big way, with all of the over-the-top action available on your portable device. Republique puts its own twist on episodic gameplay with its stealth focus. Lichdom: Battlemage is a first-person RPG where your only weapons are the spells you can weave. Challenging gameplay, strategy, and beautiful visuals await.

Week Five (March 27 – March 31)

MLB, 16, The Show, Josh Donaldson

March 2016 closes out the month with some solid experiences. MLB The Show returns, continuing to be the best (and only) baseball sim out there. Adr1ft leaves players on a deserted space station that has been severely damaged. As you float around in the serene expanse of space, you’ll have to figure out just what happened and how are you going to make it back home.

For those not into anything new but also want something a bit on the frightening side, Capcom is re-releasing Resident Evil 6 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
